Central and South Sussex CAB helps thousands of people in West Sussex every year. Our advice is free, independent, confidential and impartial.  We help everyone, from all backgrounds; we value diversity, promote equality and challenge discrimination. We also work to improve people’s lives by campaigning and by influencing policymakers. We gather evidence on issues and practices we believe are unjust, we raise these issues with those who are causing them, and suggest how they could be avoided. You can help us to continue to run our service by donating to us. Any amount, small or large, helps us give advice to the people who need us. You can choose to give a one-off donation, or to give us more regular support. You can do this by giving to us monthly; it’s easy to set up a direct debit, and is so valuable to our clients. We are a registered charity, and part of a nationwide network of Citizens Advice Bureaux. Thank you so much for your support. It means a lot to the people of West Sussex.

YTD Raised: £500.00

The Suffolk West Citizens Advice Bureau (SWCAB) is a local charity which offers free information and advice to all members of the local community across Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill, Brandon and Mildenhall. The aim is to provide the advice that clients need at the time they need it. The dual aim is to promote change locally and nationally through social policy work by utilising the experience of individuals across the country to lobby parliament and other organisations. Advice is provided in a holistic fashion to each individual client to ensure that any underlying issues that create barriers in their ability to resolve their problems, are addressed. Each bureaux are independent charities created by the local community, but work within the criteria laid down in the Citizens Advice membership scheme - quality of advice audit, management and organisational standards. Our strategic development is focused on reviewing our service delivery across Suffolk West, taking into account the changing needs of our clients, volunteers and core funders.  This also includes seeking funding to develop services where we need to increase capacity; including plans for early intervention to curb the growth in key enquiry areas (this is often as a response to CAB social policy evidence e.g. poor financial capability leading to poor financial decisions).  Over 80% of our work force are volunteers, who give their time to be receptionists, gateway assessors, advisers, administrative support, some specialist caseworkers and financial capability trainers.
