The Dragon Café is the UK’s first ‘mental health café’ and creative space, devised and delivered by Mental Fight Club, a London-based, service-user led, creative force for change. Based in the crypt of St George the Martyr’s Church in Borough High St, The Dragon Café is a weekly pop-up cafe with a packed programme of creative activities and events. It’s open from midday to 20.30 every Monday, including bank holidays. All are welcome but the VIPs at The Dragon Café are those who are struggling through vulnerability, mental illness and recovery. We are a multi-cultural service supporting and celebrating the diversity of clients accessing the service. The charity provided over 5000 hours of counselling in 2014. PCS is the only counselling service that provides long term counselling on an affordable fee basis. The issues dealt with in counselling may include relationship issues, bereavement, abuse, depression, anger, stress or disability. PCS receives funding to provide a free counselling service to Portsmouth residents for drug and alcohol issues. We also offer free counselling sessions to family members of substance misuse users and for witnesses and victims of domestic abuse.
