This is the reality for millions of older and younger people in our society today. 1 million older people in the UK go for over a month without speaking to a friend, relative or neighbour. 5 million older people consider television as their main source of company. Around one million young people are currently not in education, employment and training. With growing levels of youth homelessness and mental health issues, young people are at risk of becoming a lost generation. Money raised through this exciting new partnership with Virgin Money will support Age UK and YouthNet to reduce loneliness and isolation by providing life changing support to older and young people in Virgin Money’s local communities and across the UK.
