Clyst Caring Friends is a charity that exists for the relief of those who are sick, convalescent, disabled, infirm or elderly residing in a rural area to the east of Exeter. The charity began as a 'friends of Pinhoe surgery' running a car service to the surgery for those with mobility problems, but has over recent years developed and expanded. Our current operation includes running a purpose built day centre in the village of Broadclyst five days a week. Here we provide three days of day care, one of which is for the elderly mentally infirm. We also have a specialist bathing unit. A Memory Cafe also meets at the centre and its staff and volunteers are trained in dementia awareness. There is a monthly lunch club for those who are housebound and all our services are supported by a volunteer car service. We are continually fund raising to support all of our services and we are looking to run a charity shop to boost the fund raising. Charity No: 1050675
