We provide a rehabilitation programme for people that suffer from heart and lung disease and also run a weight management programme. The West Midlands is the worst area in the country for adult obesity, which can lead to the development of heart disease and diabetes. At Heart Care we are helping people to prevent and recover from these conditions, but we need your help to enable us to continue to provide our unique service for the people of Walsall. Heart Care continues to help thousands of patients with heart problems per year; we had 838 referrals in 2013 alone for our Cardiac Rehabilitation programme. The amount of people’s live Heart Care touches each year is huge and we are in constant need of fundraising efforts to support this. East Sussex Association Of Blind And Partially Sighted People (ESAB) (UK, 209535) Browse events

YTD Raised: £100.00

The East Sussex Association of Blind and Partially Sighted People (ESAB) works with over 1,700 local people who are blind or partially sighted. We offer clients information, training and support.   We want our clients to have the same opportunities as sighted people, to be more confident and knowledgeable and have increased choice and control in their lives.  We also deliver vision awareness training for carers, local businesses and community groups.  This helps the wider community understand how they can help people with a visual impairment to overcome some of the problems they face. There are many different causes of blindness and people experience their sight loss in different ways. This is why ESAB focuses on individuals and develops a Seeing the Future plan with each client to identify their aims and how we can support them to achieve these. Many of ESAB’s clients are over the age of 65 but we are working with increasing numbers of younger people.

YTD Raised: £90.00

TYPE 2 DIABETES • GET WISE. CHANGE LIVES. Our aim is to raise awareness of Type 2 Diabetes and to raise vital funding for The Michael Clements Diabetes Centre at Watford General Hospital. Michael Green was a kind and loving husband, father and friend to all, greeting everyone with his smile and warmth. It was devastating for his family and friends when he died, but through this charity, we can prevent others from suffering the same loss and thus create something good from something so tragic. With the first £10k that was raised, we built an educational dietetic kitchen at the diabetes centre at Watford General Hospital as a resource for current diabetes patients and others within our community. Our next major projects include: • providing specialist nurse training at the diabetes centre at Watford General Hospital • providing more specialst equipment for the diabetes centre. We are also in the early stages of producing a recipe book, with dishes that have been specially donated from well-known chefs, with a focus on health and diabetic-friendly foods. The book will also have useful information about diabetes, with some personal accounts from those who have lived with, and reversed their diabetic conditions...truly remarkable accounts! There are many other events planned for the coming months so please check back here regularly to see what's happening. You can also visit our website for news and for updates on our latest activities. Through collaborations with West Herts NHS Trust, The Mayor of St Albans, local business sponsorship and our trusty team of dedicated volunteers, we will continue to spread the word that a healthy lifetstyle will help to prevent Type 2 diabetes. www.michaelgreenfoundation.org Thank you for your kind donation - it is greatly appreciated. ____________________________________________________________ Sunday 13th July British 10K - London Run We have a number of runners taking part in this year's British 10K on behalf of The Michael Green Foundation.
