In 2014 Tickled Pink became a registered charity with the aim of making sure that nobody should be left to deal with breast cancer alone. We believe we are stronger together and that everyone needs a helping hand, especially those affected by breast cancer. Jo’s Dreams helps people with life threatening kidney failure. This is classed as grade 4/5 kidney disease and means that the patient is often on a gruelling dialysis routine. We also help people who have had a long period of time on dialysis. Jo’s Dreams will coordinate and organise the funding to provide an individual with an experience of their choice. It is aimed to help provide people with a memory that can never be taken away from them or their family and loved ones. Jo’s Dreams can provide an experience that will be unique to that person. They may want something as simple as trip to the cinema with friends or a weekend in London to see a show. Others may be more daring – it’s really up to them. The dream is their choice …… we will make it happen by funding and organising it for them – making it tailored to suit their needs. It will be a special time to always be remembered. The experience will have to fall within our funding criteria. Joanne Horobin died on 3rd August 2011, aged 48, in the arms of her family. Jo had a dream that she talked about hours before she died ...... Kidney failure took her precious life too soon and had a dramatic effect on her quality of life. Jo spent the last five years of her life fighting kidney disease. During this time Joanne’s life was ruled by dialysis sessions at Northern General Hospital, Sheffield. Jo saw the suffering of many terminally ill people and wanted her legacy to help them a break from the mundane routine of a “normal” dialysis week. So many people often have very little to look forward to apart from endless rounds of hospital visits, dialysis treatments and the prospect of living with this kidney disease for years. Jo wanted others to have a good time - she wanted families to have special memories together. Our sister knew that setting up Jo’s Dreams would help others in this terrible situation which is so hard to bear. Jo’s Dreams is a tribute to Joanne Horobin’s courage, determination and sheer love of life ……….. Sadly gone but never forgotten.

We are a nationwide charity supporting families with children under 18 years of age with various conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Cancer, Autism, e.t.c. Our principal aims are to ensure children have life saving equipment so as to enable them to remain in the family home whilst undergoing essential treatment. We also supply respite breaks for families so they can enjoy some quality time together away from a hospital environment. Most of the families have either given up work or taken time off work to be the carer for the children so as you can imagine funds in the household are very restricted, as a charity we try to make the children's lives as comfortable and as happy as possible. . Being a non government funded charity we are finding it increasingly difficult to raise enough funds and are getting more and more requests from families so we are very grateful for any help we get as at it makes such a difference to the lives of these children.

We are a registered charity dedicated to helping people with sight loss and their carers find the right level of support and maintain their quality of life. Isolation and loss of confidence often accompanies the trauma of losing sight. Through our activities, we aim to help individuals regain their confidence and feel less isolated so that they can take a more active part in the community. Through their involvement with the PAB, we believe that our members will become much better informed people, will meet many other people with sight loss, with whom they may share their problems and possibly become firm friends. Many of our volunteers have some degree of sight loss themselves so can provide first hand help and support.
