Charis is a Christian charity offering support and assistance to anyone, in London and Hertfordshire, who is affected by sexual exploitation or human trafficking within the sex industry. Charis started in 2008 as an outreach project from a local church to address a need in the community. It is a faith-based charity but not faith biased; Charis works equally with people of all faiths and none. We are committed to working alongside local government, police, NHS, schools, faith-based communities, charities and non-statutory organisations to help end sexual exploitation and human trafficking, and aid the restoration of those who have been affected and traumatised within the sex industry. Our vision is to see a society where everyone is valued, treated with dignity and able to live a fulfilling life, without the danger of being trafficked or sexually exploited. We achieve our aims through Preventative work; by raising awareness and educating statutory and non-statutory organisations, and through lessons in schools. Regular Outreach work every week to women working on the street and working in off street sex establishments. Individual befriending relationships, practical support, advocacy, advice, referrals and signposting. Charis exists to give people in the sex industry the opportunity for choice again (where so many of their choices have previously been taken from them); a choice to exit if they wish, and a choice to rebuild a new life as they would choose to live it.

Big Hug Foundation is dedicated to providing shelter and education for underprivileged children in India. The children we support are all destitute; some are orphans and others are runaways escaping a lifetime of neglect and/or abuse. Big Hug aims to relieve these children of hardship and break the cycle of poverty by providing them with clean, safe shelter, a real education and above all, a family...what every child deserves. At our partner project, Cornerstone Children’s Home (based in south India) we currently support 33 children and young people. The goal of the home is not to be an institution but to provide a loving, safe and comfortable family atmosphere for the children. It only costs £5 to provide a child with shelter and education for an entire month. That’s as little as 17p a day to change a child’s life. Big Hug Foundation's mission: The well-being and development of the children we work with will always be at the forefront of everything we do. We will always base our decisions and actions on what the children need and what is in their best interest. Visit out website to find out more information about the work we do and the children we support.

Nour is charity which aims to tackle the silent, yet prevalent social issue of domestic violence (DV) in the Muslim community by using Islamic literature from both the Qur’an and the Prophetic teachings as a platform to refute and condemn DV. Our objectives as a charity are to open the lines of communication and facilitate the access between individuals and our team of Islamic, legal and professional advisors, so that they may receive counselling and advice which is sensitive to their faith. We also allocate clients with a caseworker to assist in their situation. We endeavour to eliminate the complacent attitude towards DV in Muslim communities by educating, creating awareness and campaigning against DV via seminars, community talks and workshops. Our final phase is to provide an aftercare package for the DV survivors and their children to include social and psychological support. Our philanthropic motivation and ambition for the outreach to victims of DV is rooted within the teachings of Islam, but Nour will be accessible for all and there will be no racial, religious or gender discrimination of DV victims. We hope that the culmination of the services that Nour provides will be a source of strength, support and solace for the survivors of DV.
