It is a place to find practical ideas, swap tips and access information on everything from brushing teeth to challenging behaviour. All the information on the site is submitted by people with first-hand experience of learning disability, and is organised under quick searches such as ‘Dressing & undressing’ ‘Out and about’ ‘Behaviour’ and ‘Routines’. There are also practical info packs on subjects like financial help and jobs & training, plus a friendly interactive forum. “The idea for Netbuddy came about when my son was small,” said Netbuddy founder Deborah Gundle, who’s son has learning disabilities. “I spent so much time and energy solving day-to-day problems, which I felt sure other people had encountered. “Netbuddy works because people in the special needs community like to support each other. Caplor Horizons is a not for profit organisation: it inspires & enables people to bring about lasting and meaningful change for the benefits of society Caplor Horizons specialises in organisational effectiveness, focusing on 3 areas: (i) strengthening leadership; (ii) reviewing & developing strategy; (iii) improving advocacy. In 2014 work was carried out with more than 10 organisations: e.g. (i) leadership training with 26 senior Red Cross representatives from 13 countries in sub-Saharan Africa in collaboration with the International Centre for Humanitarian Affairs; (ii) strategy development with Dochas, the umbrella body for NGOs in Ireland; (iii) improving the advocacy work of organisations in the West Midlands, UK, via monthly sessions with groups led by Lord Tyler CBE. Also Caplor Horizons carried out coaching & mentoring with individuals: e.g. the CEO of Responding to Conflict. The purpose of Caplor Horizons is to inspire & enable leaders to deliver a sustainable future. Its vision is to create distinctive opportunities for people who wish to contribute their time & expertise for the lasting benefit of society. It is a charity for other charities & it works with responsible businesses too. With an understanding of the complex challenges & opportunities facing organisations, Caplor Horizons supports people to make better decisions. Working through a network of talented & committed individuals - our staff & 'Advisors' - many offering expertise on a voluntary or reduced cost basis, Caplor Horizons designs & delivers distinctive programmes & bespoke services at great value. Caplor Horizons has 28 active Advisors & these work in teams with staff: e.g. 5 have been working with The Trussell Trust to help develop strategy & team work across different work-stream areas.

Most of the drivers don fancy dress costumes, much to the delight of the children and the people who line the route through Glasgow and in Troon itself.The effort that goes into “dressing” the Taxis has to be seen to be believed and we hope that the images on this site will give you an insight into the work that is involved.
