All the information on the site is submitted by people with first-hand experience of learning disability, and is organised under quick searches such as ‘Dressing & undressing’ ‘Out and about’ ‘Behaviour’ and ‘Routines’. There are also practical info packs on subjects like financial help and jobs & training, plus a friendly interactive forum. “The idea for Netbuddy came about when my son was small,” said Netbuddy founder Deborah Gundle, who’s son has learning disabilities. “I spent so much time and energy solving day-to-day problems, which I felt sure other people had encountered. “Netbuddy works because people in the special needs community like to support each other. Also Caplor Horizons carried out coaching & mentoring with individuals: e.g. the CEO of Responding to Conflict. The purpose of Caplor Horizons is to inspire & enable leaders to deliver a sustainable future. Its vision is to create distinctive opportunities for people who wish to contribute their time & expertise for the lasting benefit of society. It is a charity for other charities & it works with responsible businesses too. With an understanding of the complex challenges & opportunities facing organisations, Caplor Horizons supports people to make better decisions.
