Disability Action Yorkshire provides services for adults with physical, learning and sensory disabilities in Yorkshire. We aim to enable every disabled adult in Yorkshire to live the lifestyle of their own choosing; a lifestyle full of independence, personal choice and opportunity. Our services are: Residential care - we have the only residential care-home specifically for younger adults with physical disabilities in the Harrogate and District area. Whilst we provide the very highest level of care, we also teach our residents important independent living skills, so that they can be as self-reliant as possible. Employment skills training - we provide a training and development service for adults with physical and learning disabilities, to enable them to find employment. We offer adult learning courses, such as volunteering skills or full ASDAN certifications, plus work based placements in our Furniture Entreprise. Our Furniture Enterprise is a dedicated service selling pre-used, quality furniture and soft furnishings, on a commissiion basis to the general public. We display all the furniture in our showroom situated at Hornbeam Park, Harrogate. Home-care - we provide a home-care service for disabled adults, especially those who have been disabled by old age. We can offer support with personal care, cooking, cleaning, shopping, night-sitting, companionship and anything else that is needed. We aim to enable our service-users to remain living independently in their own homes for as long as possible, without feeling isolated or alone. Accessible Holiday Lodge - we have used our experience of providing accommodation for disabled people to ensure the holiday lodge is fully accessible and has the equipment needed to make your holiday enjoyable. A high quality facility based in Louth, Lincolnshire providing accessible holidays to families with both adult and child disabled access.
