The Earth Education Project (EEP) works to empower women in Nicaragua through art and education. We teach and support a group of women living on Central Americas largest rubbish dump, La Chureca, to recycle scrap paper by hand and create unique paper products. The women receive a fair wage, food for their family, employment and opportunity to change their futures. DONATE . CREATE HOPE . CHANGE LIVES Our paper workshop is funded entirely through the sales of our products and donations. We would not be able to provide the education, skill set and opportunity to the women of La Chureca without you. You are the difference in a ‘Churecera’s’ life. All donations make a difference as 100% of your donation reaches the women we work with. We require funding to provide lasting solutions and therefore believe that donors should be able to trace where their generous support goes. Non-perishable food is donated by the community and banked at Redbridge foodbank. The food is distributed to individuals and families in crisis through referrals from a network of registered care professionals such as Social Services, Victim Support, schools and church pastoral workers. Upon referrals, clients are sent to our Distribution Centre, which takes the form of a café-style environment. A listening ear is provided in a safe non-judgmental place where clients can find out about possible areas of help. Redbridge foodbank provides a multi-agency platform to facilitate this such as Citizens Advice Bureau, Debt Counselling, Drug and Alcohol Services and Housing Advice. The foodbank provides short term emergency food to an individual or family in crisis while a long-term strategy is developed.
