We are prepared to try to offer help in any area of life, and much of our work involves signposting to other agencies and ensuring that those agencies understand the needs of EU clients. We work flexibly and are generally contacted through telephone or internet but we also hold regular ‘drop in’ advice sessions throughout the city. We are particularly keen to help people who have housing difficulties and who face possible homelessness, and we work closely with agencies that work with ‘street homeless’ people. We also support victims of domestic violence helping them to access available services. We help people access employment that reflects their qualifications, training and passions. We wish to ensure that all clients understand their rights in the UK, and can play their part to make Southampton an even better place in which to live and work. WHO DO WE HELP? We assist the Polish, Czech, Slovak, Estonian, Slovenian, Hungarian, Lithuanian, Latvian, as well as Romanian, Bulgarian and Russian speaking communities.

Good4you (UK, 1123820) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Good4you is the only organisation in Britain that addresses the special problems resulting from being simultaneously Homeless and Disabled. We also work with people who are either disabled or homeless. ABOUT US The concept of negative synergy is patently clear in "drinking and driving", together. Two things, put together, create new problems and dangers that do not exist if you drink or drive, seperately. The term "Twice Excluded People" refers to those who are socially excluded because of Disability, and because of Homelessness. Social exclusion simply means that a door of opportunity is shut in ones face, and in a city of 8 million people, like London, it can happen that 8 million doors are shut in ones face. It is then that one sleeps "Out of Doors". Our research has shown that more than half of homeless people are disabled people. The Government of Britain has never asked how many disabled people are homeless. No-one knows, because no person or organisation in Britain has even recognised the problem. No-one asked, except Good4you.
