We serve the community as a voluntary organisation that provides support to West Midlands Ambulance service, by responding to 999 calls with the area we cover. When a patient dials 999, we are dispatched by the emergency operations centre to commence treatment prior to the arrival of an ambulance. As we are based in the local community we can arrive on scene sooner than an ambulance, this can be invaluable in cases of cardiac arrest. We are never sent instead of an ambulance always in addition to the ambulance. The area we cover expands throughout Middleton, Tamworth, drayton Bassett, Bassets Pole, Sutton Coldfield, Chelmsley Wood, Coleshill, Water Orton, Curdworth, Kingsbury, Lea Marston and many more surrounding areas. All this cover doesnt come cheap though, with the increase in fuel prices and VAT it costs nearly £800 per month just to keep the vehicles on the road. We are always looking for donations, sponsorship and support from the general public and local businesses. If you feel you could help in any way then please contact us (details below). Rapid-Aid is a registered charity and as such all funds are gained from donations or fundraising events. Each responder volunteers their own time to respond to 999 emergencies. Please help us to help you.
