The pool benefits all sections of the Community. Children can join swimming clubs providing them with an understanding of water safety and improving swimming skills. Adults and children have access to a high quality learn to swim programme and can join the Lifesaving Club learning valuable lifesaving and first aid skills. Older swimmers, disabled swimmers and ladies can enjoy the health benefits derived from specially designated swim sessions. Six local primary schools use the pool for teaching and the local fire brigade use the pool for training. Early morning swim sessions and adult lane swimming sessions allow working people to exercise regularly either before or after work and general swim sessions provide exercise and fun for all ages.However, the future is constantly plagued by the need to balance the books. Without a good summer the pressure will fall on the kind donations of the community to make up any shortfalls. Big or small, every penny counts.
