In the remote village of Bangalala, Tanzania, children walk over 2 hours, each way, to get to school. They set of at 4.30am and get back late. For boys, the walk is inconvenient. For girls, its life-threatening. Every day these girls, who aspire to learn and hold ambitious dreams, face dangers of the road alone. Many are raped, some are attacked by wild dogs, a few have stones hurled at them. Its a testament to their courage that they still make the journey, but its a daily journey which no girl should have to take. Hazina is working in close co-operation with the population of Bangalala to develop a hostel for these girls close to the secondary school. The foundations have already been built and we need only a further £8,000 to complete the building. Thats £8,000 to give girls with great ambitions the opportunity to reach them without the daily dangers of the road. Our administration is entirely voluntary and thus 100% of your donation will go to this project. We hope you will help us provide these girls with a safe, prosperous future.

We offer mentoring, drop-in clubs, holiday activities, residential trips and all sorts of bespoke support that falls in between and outside of our regular programme, from helping with homework to providing advocacy at meetings with school or social services. During sessions we cook and eat together, we play games, make things, sing, dance, and we talk about everything from the very trivial to the life-changing. Get in touch if you'd like to know more.

Ignite Trust works with at risk and vulnerable young people from disadvantaged backgrounds through positive activities such as dance, sports, in school and after school clubs and specialist activities for particular groups (young parents, young people in trouble with the police etc). We encourage young people to make positive life choices through: At Ignite we believe in the person and their potential, not the problems by which society and others define them. We work closely with individuals that others may have “written off”. We seek to provide fun and engaging projects and more intensive one-to-one support, in order to support young people through issues they are facing and to encourage them to strive to better themselves and their lives. However, we are not simply interested in babysitting badly behaved young people – we believe in transformation and new beginnings.
