VIDES UK offers young people the chance to volunteer to make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged children and young people. Our volunteers work on projects here in the UK and all over the world. Our volunteer programme encourages young people to grow in confidence, develop team work and leadership skills and to contribute positively to communities. Our volunteers then work in teams to run projects for disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. VIDES UK runs residential weekends, youth clubs, activity weeks and youth leadership courses. We hope to make a difference, enabling children and young people to recognise their own potential. We also work closely with local communities across the UK, offering support and training.
Whimple is a small village in East Devon with a Scouting history that goes back almost to the beginnings of the movement. Our Scout group caters for young people from the ages of 6 through to 18 across all the sections of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts. Run by enthusiastic local volunteers we give young people opportunities to develop themselves through a range of exciting and interesting activities. The purpose of scouting is to help young people achieve their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as Members of their local, national and international community.
