Friends of Khasdobir supports a project providing education to young children, tutoring and training for young people, adult literacy for women and financial help to widows in poorer areas of Sylhet Bangladesh. We aim to raise £48,000 per year to provide schools under the sky for young children aged 3-6 who would not get an education if it was not provided by the project we support. The project also provides extra help to students from poorer families so that they can complete their education successfully. Training in sewing is provided for young women so that they can support their families. Mothers who cannot read are provided with adult literacy and small grants are available to widows who have no other source of income. The Friends of Khasdobir make regular donations to support the work and we invite you to do so using this page. We hold fundraising meals and organise an annual sponsored walk. Please consider supporting this valuable work in Bangladesh. The project has been in existence since the 1982 and many of the children and young people the project has supported now have good jobs locally as a direct result of support provided by the project.
