YTD Raised: £515.00

North London Cares is a community network recruiting young professionals and students to offer a little extra time, practical support, social connection and human companionship to their older neighbours in Camden and Islington. We create one-to-one interactions to combat lonliness, and regular group activities for people to come together who may not normally interact, improving lives and health outcomes and bridging generational and social divides.  Our Love Your Neighbour programme matches individual volunteers with just a little spare time to older neighbours who would benefit from a little companionship. Meanwhile, our Social Clubs - such as Film Nights, Storytelling Nights, Cooking Sessions, Concert Trips, Afternoon Tea Sessions and Games Clubs - provide a chance for people to share skills, experiences and cultural exchange. In 30 months, 700 North London Cares volunteers and 750 older neighbours have enjoyed over 325 Social Clubs, 20,000 interactions and 2,000 meals. A donation of £20 can help finance our next Social Club. £50 will help pay for a Cooking Session and meals for 10 isolated people. And a donation of £100 will enable us to host a major event for up to 40 of our neighbours to share time and new experiences with our volunteers.
