Young Carers are the unsung heroes in our communities. This wonderful group of children grow up too fast, often missing out on the basics we take for granted. By providing activities and fun days we aim to give Young Carers a chance to have a break from their caring role and have some fun. They also have the opportunity to spend time and talk with other Young Carers which allows them to discuss their caring role knowing they won't be judged and that there are other Young Carers in a similar situation to them. We hope the activities and fun breaks we provide can be the beginning of a passion we have, to provide regular support, over the coming months and years and to have a lasting effect by building resilience and creating memories for Young Carers. The service Young Carers provide to society is often underestimated or taken for granted. We are here to try to make sure they have the time and opportunity to be children. We support Young Carers between the ages of 8 and 24.

"Where a little goes a long way". Grassroots is involved across the globe and the UK wherever God calls. We try to use the resources that we are given to the maximum, spending as little on administration, whilst at the same time not exploiting people's generosity. We are probably best known for our work in Mbeya,Tanzania where we have many children in our sponsorship scheme. However, we also have sponsorship schemes in India, Kenya and Romania and similar work in Malawi and Peru. We have evangelistic and social care work in Tenerife (where The Living Room is a central feature) and Cyprus. We also run Prayer Spaces in Schools through Orison in the UK and are involved in makelunch, caring for children during the school holidays. The Grassroots Trust was set up and is directed by Hugo and Sharon Anson.
The Guatemalan Families Association (GFA) is a charity for families living in Britain who have adopted or are in the process of adopting children from Guatemala. Our primary goal is to support internationally adopted Guatemalan children to connect with their Guatemalan roots. We also support two Guatemalan NGO's. The history of violence against indigenous populations, natural disasters, poverty, and illiteracy can best be dealt with in partnership with Guatemalans. Behrhorst projects promote self-sufficiency, foster community development, and enhance the education and health of people working to make a better life for their children and communities. Pueblo a Pueblo projects respond to the devastating poverty and deprivation in targeted indigenous villages. Projects work to build the community’s ability to thrive on its own while achieving health, food security, and education for local families. Many GFA families have visited the villages where these two charities are working. They have seen the difference our contributions make. Together, we will make the struggle to survive and be productive a little easier. Charity No: 1105241 Find out more Website http://www.gfa-uk.org/drupal/
