(UK, 1157390) Dennis Wise & Frankham Group Charitable Trust (formally Dennis Wise in the Community) was founded in the 2000 through a passion of helping others and improving lives by Ex Chelsea FC Captain Dennis Wise and Chairman of Frankham Consultancy Group Steve Frankham. The Trust was set up to help raise money for children and adults with disabilities and since inception has gone from strength to strength. Our Mission Statement: "To support such general charitable purpose as the trustees in their absolute discretion may determine for those who are socially and economically disadvantaged, in particular but not exclusively to provide financial support for education, to provide transport facilities for persons who have a special need of such facilities because they are elderly, poor, disabled, people with young children or those living in isolated areas where there are no adequate public transport facilities and to provide support to children with disabilities and organisations providing hospice and care services to children." All proceeds are donated towards various charities including Parkwood Hall, Threshers Day Nursery, Northlands (Multiple Sclerosis Society), Demelza Hospice, Burgess Autistic Trust, Marlborough School to name but a few and over the last year we have started our challenge of donating 100 new school minibuses to local schools. We are very lucky to have wonderful supporters of the Charitable Trust and hope to continue helping lives and pressing towards our target of 100 minibuses. Registered Charity No. 1157390

These children are in urgent need of assistance and cannot be cared for adequately at home. We support these children by giving grants to enable them to attend state and independent boarding schools. Schools that provide them with the stability and care they so vitally need at a difficult time in their lives. Whilst at school the chidren can maintain vital contact with their families. Our work can only expand through the generosity of others.

We are an independent group that meets twice weekly at Hardmoor Early Years Centre (and every other weekend) as well as once a week at Thornhill Surestart Centre and Footsteps (at Mason Moor Primary school). We provide structured play inside and out, as well as support, education and advice for the families. Parents/Carers may stay with their children or leave the child with our staff for a well earned short break. We have a number of paid professional staff but also rely on wonderful volunteers.

We do this through providing psychotherapy for people with learning disabilities, advice and support for staff and families, training for carers and professionals, education for people with learning disabilities. We also seek to influence generic services in order to make their services more accessible, to influence learning disability services to consider the psychological impact of living with learning disabilities, and undertake research in the field and to disseminate our findings. The people we support may need an extra hand to access the things in life that we can take for granted. Your generous donations will support Havencare projects in community inclusion and opportunities to achieve important life outcomes for some of the most vulnerable people in our society. Current projects include ‘Access2Activities’ – a partnership with YMCA Plymouth and local attraction to offer supported opportunities for fun and engaging experiences in the local area – and; ‘The Haven’ – a community garden project, with land donated by our partner charity Brook Housing, where we envisage people with learning disabilities and autism accessing a safe-haven with an allotment, smallholding and tranquil sensory space. Their resources are depleted but the social enterprise and dedication is inspiring. Friends of Kianjai Kenya (FKK) see it as our role to work with these leaders to provide the resources which will empower them to realise their vision. Currently our focus of support is divided into three areas: Educational scholarships for secondary school. Supporting orphans and children from humble backgrounds to remain in education either at school or in a vocational polytechnic. We are also resourcing these institutions so they can provide a better quality of education. Special needs educational support.We are resourcing feeding programs to minimise malnutrition amongst disabled children in the community. FKK also provide teachers resources, and training to educate parents and the community to better include disabled children into the community. Our big project started in 2013 is the building of a respite centre for these families. Entrepreneurial support. FKK respond to local enthusiasm and interest. We have supported a self help group of parents of disabled children to improve their income through chicken rearing. We have provided a knitting machine to a young man blinded at the age of 15 through glaucoma.FKK purchases craft from a women s self help group for re sale in the UK. FKK is also looking to support local farmers to improve their yields.
