Communicating how you feel about issues affecting your life is something that many people take for granted but millions of poor and marginalised people around the world never get the chance to have their voices heard. Millions also don't have access to the information that they desperately need to make informed decisions about their lives. At Panos London we believe that whether the problem is HIV and AIDS, climate change, civil conflict or poverty, poor people in developing countries have a right to know about, debate and have a say in decisions that affect their lives. Panos London is part of the worldwide Panos Network of independent institutes working to promote the active participation of poor and marginalised people in finding solutions to the problems they face, through media and communication projects. Our work helps to ensure that people in developing countries are included in decision-making processes and have access to the information they need to improve their lives.
Bexley SNAP exist to help ensure that disabled children in Bexley are supported to have the best opportunities and experiences they can to enable them to have full and fulfilling lives. We offer a range of leisure services to support this; holiday play-schemes, weekend activities, youth clubs, and ‘buddy’ experiences. We support families by offering information, advice, support, counselling, courses, coffee mornings, training, and a resource library. For pre-school disabled children we offer the Little Stars project, a parent/child teaching and play programme based on the principles of conductive education. The aim of this project is to encourage the development of young children and babies with complex needs and physical delay. Our Early Years keyworker offers support to families with pre school complex needs children, helping co-ordinate the many appointments with professionals necessary, signposting for other sources of help and advice while liaising with the other professionals that are working with the family to encourage a less stressful and more seamless service. We are working with the local authority to test new government plans for the assessing and providing for the health, care and education needs of disabled children in Bexley. Our Pathfinder worker is responsible for helping families with this new process and reporting any successes or difficulties. In addition we provide halloween and Christmas parties as well as day trips when funds permit. The Holiday allows the children a chance to have a week away packed with fun, new experiences and a chance to form friendships. For some it is the first chance to gain some independence and for others the oppotunity to have a week of being just a child without the responsablities they may have at home. The charity is run purely by volunteers so your donation will 100% go to the children. If you want to know more about us visit our website www.cpcf.org.uk or email our fundraising co-ordinator [email protected] Whatever you can donate large or small, it WILL make a difference to a child in the Plymouth area which is just waiting for this chance, so Thank You from the bottoms of our hearts.

Centre of Excellence Sailing Facilities for Children and Adults with Disability We are a financially independent charity and receive No statutory funding whatsoever, our activities are run entirely by a team of hard working, dedicated volunteers. During the 2010 season, we provided activities for almost 2000 children and adult visitors with disabilities. This included 9 Special Schools attending on a regular basis, various groups from around the country and the Government Aiming High short breaks scheme for children with disabilities. We are nearing completion of our new £500,000 Boat House and require another £30,000 to complete the interior of the building. Our supporters and sponsors have already contributed £200,000 to the cost of the building, the balance coming from our own fund-raising and a grant from the Social Enterprice Investment Fund of nearly £150,000. We need to complete the building this summer so that our disabled users can sail on Rudyard Lake and have the independence, dignity and privacy afforded by our new facilities. We were honoured to receive Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal on the 26th April the year for a short visit to see progress to date. Princess Anne is the Patron of RYA Sailability. We are hoping she will make a return visit in the Autumn to open the fully completed building.
