Karers 4 Kidz was originally used as an umbrella term for parents, teachers, social and healthcare workers and all those who care for children and young people. Founded by parents of a daughter with cerebral palsy, K4K became a registered charity in October 2005. The charity has no paid staff and relies entirely upon its sponsors, partners and supporters in order to fulfil its objectives. We focus on projects that promote and advance the wellbeing of children and young people, in particular those who are disabled and disadvantaged. We provide inclusive educational and recreational facilities for disabled children in addition to campaigning for equality of access and opportunity for all. We provide information, support and assistance to those who care for disabled children, and encourage parents to work together for the benefit of not only their own children, but also for the wider community.
£2 - Sponsor a child to a education for just £2 per month £12 - Provides 1 child an education for 6 months £27 - Provides all books and stationary for a centre for 3 months £58 - Cost the cost of 1 centre for 6 months Running education centres to cater to children from poor tribal families in currently 58 villages, we have the scope to expand to 900 rural education centres across India. Access to education in the remote areas of India is limited due in part to no current facilities in place, the tradition that children work rather then gain an education and has not been accorded value by the elders of the village. We only start centres with the full involvement of the local community in the management of their project and also train local instructors to work in the education centre. We equip children with essential skills for coping with the challenges of contemporary life. You can help a child have a future, please help

Mid Cheshire Riding for the Disabled are an independent Charity affiliated to Riding for the Disabled Association - as such we have to raise around £15,000 per year to support our riders Mid Cheshire Riding for the Disabled have been running for over 35 years in Cheshire and for over 4 years at our new base in Knutsford. We provide horse riding activities for people with various disabilities from the age of 5 upwards. We have riders who come as individuals and others who come as part of school/day care groups. Riding is a great way of providing exercise and is a wonderful social activity as well as being fun. In 2012/13 we gave 2300 individual rides and we have 126 disabled children and adults taking part in our activities. We are completely reliant on our great volunteers. We own 3 ponies and borrow others - so we need funds to keep them, for shoes, insurance and to buy special equipment that will help our riders. We have regular fund raising events but donations are always welcome Charity No: 1074130 Find out more Website http://www.midcheshirerda.org

Easingwold Branch of Friends of Chernobyl's Children is a registered charity that funds and organises yearly visits for Belarusian children from disadvantaged social backgrounds to the UK, where they stay with host families for temporary recuperative care. The charity targets particularly needy children from seven to twelve years of age, who are often in need of dental and medical attention, education, and tender loving care. The children, from the badly contaminated areas of Belarus, come for one month every year for five consecutive years, which has been shown to have a significant effect up on their overall quality of life, their happiness, health and well-being. Every year the Easingwold Branch of FOCC funds 11 children from Belarus to visit the UK where they are cared for a month by DBS-checked and vetted host families. During their stay, we ensure that the children take part in daily trips and activities that meet their social, health and educational needs. The children return to the same host family for up to five years where possible. The FOCC identifies children aged between seven and twelve who are most at need: children from large families, one-parent families, and foster children. Many of these children live in poverty in contaminated areas and suffer general poor health. We fund a 4-week visit to the UK each year for up to five consecutive years per child. The Help Uganda Trust supports in particular the Children and Young people of St Michael's Children's Home Kampala. Unlike many charities operating in Africa and Uganda the HUT aims to pay for professional training and/or University places so that each child is capable of fully supporting themselves when they leave the home. It is not just education to sixteen or eighteen and then back on the streets with the need for continued charitable support or alternativily facing the return to extreme poverty. The HUT pays for the day to day expenses of running the home including food, medicine, utilities and staff. There are approximately 85 resident and a further 20 family placed children. In addition to the on-going expenses the Trust pays for the education of approximately 45 of the young people. Other charities and donors pay for the remaining children's education. The children come from a range of ethnic (tribal) and religious backgrounds and it is the home's policy that children are treated equally regardless of background. Most are there because of armed conflict or because of the impact of AIDS. At the home great emphasis is made on teaching the children to respect each other’s religious differences and in the equality of the sexes. We are particularly proud of our success with young girls and are delighted in the confidence that many have obtained. We are also proud that some of our children have gone on to become doctors, teachers, engineers as well as artists and musicians. Please support us however you can Signing up for regular giving is particularly helpful as the children need ongoing support.

Our efforts are currently focused on the Nuffield School for the Deaf and Blind in Sri-Lanka. The 55-year old school provides primary and secondary schooling for children with physical disabilities and board for many of them often orphaned or abandoned. The work it does is unique and crucial in a community where physical disabilities are often stigmatised and support inadequate. In our opinion, Nuffield is an institution that deserves to be preserved.
We have a simple aim - to seek to relieve the suffering of children and young persons affected by poverty, malnutrition or disease and to provide particular support to those with special needs. In achieving this, we have concentrated our efforts on supporting those children and communities in Sri Lanka who have been severely affected or impoverished as a direct consequence of the Asian Tsunami on 26 December 2004.
