We are a small charity active in three villages in Surrey (Tadworth, Walton and Kingswood) that provides support to a number of overseas aid projects that have some direct connection to this locality. Typically this might mean that someone, who has friends or relatives in Tadworth and is now working in the developing world, identifies opportunities for us to fund improvements to the lives of some of the poorest people on the planet. We find that relatively small sums of money can make a huge difference, thus by providing under £1000 we helped a community of some 6,000 people in Africa to gain access to clean water. We pay the annual wage costs of £300 pa for an agricultural advisor improving crop yields in a remote area of Malawi, and we pay the £1,000 annual salary for a village school teacher in Nepal, one of the poorest nations on earth. You can see details of all the projects we currently support in the main body of our web site. The sums of money provided by TWOAT are of course tiny in comparison to the large charities but you can be sure that any money you donate to us will go to the overseas projects that we support with no deduction for any costs of administering TWOAT and with a clear idea of how the money will be spent. Please click on the TWOAT logo to find out more about us. One of the projects we are now supporting is The Pastors School in Sierra Leone. Please visit the page we have set up for it by clicking on the entry in the "Find out more" box on the left of this page. Please remember to tell us if you want your donation to go specifically to The Pastors School.

The Moor Pool Heritage Trust is a grassroots local community charity run entirely by volunteers. It was set up in response to the threat of sale of the community facilities of the Moor Pool Garden Suburb in South Birmingham. This is a historic, 107 year-old estate designed by town planning pioneer John Sutton Nettlefold, and is described by English Heritage as "arguably one of the city's best kept architectural secrets". The private owner of the community facilities wants to sell them and the MPHT was created to raise the funds and manage them into the future. The facilities include two community halls, fishing pond, bowling green, skittle alley, and tennis courts. We have until September 2014 to raise the required £325,000 or these facilities will be sold to developers, and Birmingham will have lost a unique part of its history, and the local community will have lost its heart.

Thanks to the donors in the UK and around the world, the Trust is able to sponsor young children through state education from primary school to further education in Burma. Our basic belief is that the route to development is only through education and that requires the support of healthcare. Helping people to help themselves through education and self reliance is the essence of the Trusts existence and we aim to channel all support from donors and sponsors to this end.
