Our members also support the local community by utilising the skills and experiences gained through their service career to benefit the community. Our outreach service provides information and advice on a number of welfare issues, and signposting to statutory services and third sector organisations, including ex-service organisations. The VIC Centre in East Lancashire is a hub where our peer support projects are managed and a drop-in for those who are have become socially isolated. Thank you for your support. The Military Wives Choirs Foundation

YTD Raised: £524.00Following the enormous success of the No.1 single ‘Wherever You Are’ the Military Wives Choirs Foundation was established in 2012 by a small group of military wives from the first choirs as a charitable network to support women in the British military community. With a vision for others to share the pride and enjoyment experienced by women in the original choirs, they worked together to build a lasting legacy. As a result, the Military Wives Choirs Foundation was formed with a mission to bring women in the military community closer together through singing. A volunteer led organisation, with Gareth Malone as its Patron, the Foundation provides guidance, funding and support to all its member choirs. Since its formation, the Military Wives Choirs have released two number one albums, ‘In My Dreams’ and ‘Stronger Together’, and been involved in numerous memorable events including performing ‘Sing’ at the Diamond Jubilee Concert. They’ve won a Classical BRIT Award, appeared in Her Majesty the Queen’s Christmas Day Speech and performed at the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall. All Military Wives Choirs are run by volunteer committees, with every choir member paying subs each week and fund-raising through performances and charitable endeavor’s to help cover any shortfall in running costs. Many choirs also perform regularly at charitable events, helping support other charities both nationally and locally. Wherever we are in the World, the choirs give each member a chance to make a difference and connect with the community where they live. Through its growing network, the Foundation is building something that brightens lives, strengthens military communities and enables hundreds of women to experience the enjoyment and friendship that comes from being part of a Military Wives Choir. YTD Raised: £450.00DMWS is a military charity that has been providing welfare support to the Armed Forces community since 1943. We support Military personnel from all three services, their families and veterans when they are in hospital, rehabilitation or recovery centres across the UK, Germany and Cyprus. We're also the only military charity and civilian welfare organisation that deploys alongside the Armed Forces to areas of conflict and currently have staff in Afghanistan. Previous to this we were in Iraq, Bosnia, The Falkland’s, Northern Ireland and World War II to name but a few. Any hospital admission, whether it’s planned or unplanned can be stressful. However being a member of the Armed Forces, or married to one, means that you are often away from your support network of family and friends too. Our Welfare Officers are there for them and provide a helping hand and a listening ear. No problem is too small or too large; they are simply there to help. We’re really grateful you’re considering fundraising for DMWS. Your support will enable us to continue to provide much needed services to the Military community, who sacrifice so much.

We provide Emotional, Social and Practical support to all ranks from all services Military Personnel, Veterans and their Families We give our beneficiaries the opportunity to rebuild confidence, self-esteem, self-belief and encourage and motivate towards integration and socialisation. The alternative therapy we offer uses concepts that possess a potential to significantly aid in the treatment of Mental Illnesses and physical Injuries in members of the Armed Forces, in combination with standard therapies. The support we provide varies but includes: * Encouraging social integration, participation and involvement in events, challenges, activities and programs * Purchasing household necessities, equipment and supplies, such as food and appliances * Help and assistance with renovation and alterations of the home and garden * Signposting * Raising awareness of, and funds for; existing military based charities and community groups each year from our Annual 57 Mile Walk Event In order to fund and deliver our support, programs and activities we rely heavily on the generosity of the public, grants, organisations and companies. Thanks to donations and fundraising, plus the invaluable support of our volunteers, we can help to ensure that support is received by all who may need it.
