The projects have ranged from digging fresh water wells, building churches, schools, home and pig farms as well as helping to establishing a number of different micro-projects, one of which was a bakery we setup. In 2013 I ran three half marathon and raised almost £1000 Helping the Hatians people of Haiti. Please watch a short video to see what a difference your help has made over these past 5 years. On the 6th April 2014 I will be lining up with 1000’s of other men and woman aiming to complete the Manchester Marathon. YTD Raised: £65.00Horbury Churches Together began in 2004 with Anglicans,Methodists, Salvation Army and Evangelical Christians forming an alliance. HCT has since 2004 had a paid worker, working then mainly with 11 to 16 year olds. In 2008 the Trustees decided to apply for a Big Lottery grant to expand the Youth work. In August 2009 we were awarded a Big Lottery grant of £296,000 this enabled us to additionally appoint a Senior Youth Worker and a part time administrator and to open a state of the art office in the Methodist Church. The project is overseen by the Trustees but managed by a Youth Management Committee with officers shadowing the Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary of HCT. There are regular monthly meetings with the elected officers and representatives giving their reports,organising events and allocating funds to specific youth activities and purchasing. The Youth Management Committee consists of 55% young people under 25 years of age and work together with the Trustees under the "Here by Rights National" framework. As part of the Lottery Grant agreement and to continue our ever growing Young Christians part of the project, we need to raise over £20,000 per annum. This is undertaken by members of the Church Congregations and Youth Volunteers in a variety of ways. The objectives of our Lottery Grant include our providing fitness and sporting opportunities for enjoyment and the setting up of lunch time groups in the local High School to assist students with behavioural and interactive skills, teenage lifestyle groups and "Experience" events.

YTD Raised: £45.00Welcome St Georges helps children who live and work in the garbage village of Mottamodia, Cairo. A team of self funded volunteers goes out each summer to run a summer camp for these children to help raise expectations and education so that future generations will be better equipped to beat the poverty their parents know only too well. Ours is a new charity, established in 2010 to build on a legacy of informal support that has centered on St Georges Church in the Mottamodia. Over the years volunteers from the UK have worked with the church, raising funds to build toilets, classrooms, buy educational materials and to run summer camps at a Red Sea resort, but not one you would ever find in a glossy travel brochure. We hope our charity will grow and enable us to do even more in the future but right now our focus is to continue to provide an annual Summer Camp for as many children as we can fund. For many this is the only holiday they will ever experience and has changed the lives of literally hundreds of children who have been taken in the past. Many of the Egyptian youth leaders who now support the UK team at camp started out as participants themselves.
