StandUp For Kids mission is to end the cycle of youth homelessness throughout the United States. StandUp For Kids carries out this mission every day through our national volunteers and staff, who go to the streets in order to find, stabilize and otherwise help homeless and street kids improve their lives by providing and connecting them with an array of life-saving services to help them on their journey to self-sufficient adulthood.
Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization dedicated to building simple, decent housing in partnership with families in need. Habitat assists very low-income working families who do not qualify for conventional home loans. With the help of volunteer labor and donations from service organizations, faith groups, corporations and individuals, Habitat is able to sell the homes to our partner families at no profit and zero-interest financing. Monthly mortgage payments go into the Revolving Fund for Humanity, which helps build homes for more families. Partner families must also invest 500 hours of sweat equity to help build their own homes as well as the homes of their future neighbors. In this way, Habitat offers a hand up, not a hand out.
