Youth Off The Streets offers a continuum of care to young people between the age of 12 - 22 who are chronically homeless, abused, suffering from addiction or in general need of our help. We offer a range of programs including crisis and short term accommodation to long term residential care, counselling, secondary education and rehabilitation. We have extended our services to various communities and regional centres throughout NSW via our Outreach Programs. We also operate a volunteer run food van service each night in Kings Cross. We have developed these programs in response to the growing needs of our city and regional communities over the past 20 years. Where our young people are in trouble, we will be there. Our aim is to prevent young people becoming homeless by developing healthy relationships, stable accommodation and establishing goals to secure education or career pathways. Our Early Intervention and Family Support preventative program offers support to young people and their families to prevent family breakdown by improving their relationships at home. Our accommodation programs are for young people who cannot remain at home and can be housed with a specialised carer in the community. Our youth housing program provides accommodation for young people who are committed to working with our Case Managers to develop the range of skills required to make the transition to living independently in the community. These children need a break from their regular schooling and family commitments for any number of personal reasons. 1800 children visit Stewart House each year. Stewart House has been providing this care since 1931. Stewart House relies on donations to continue to provide this vital service and needs $2.5 million dollars each year.

In a spirit of friendship, we provide support and material aid in times of crisis. We aim to meet the immediate basic needs of people who need emergency relief in the form of food parcels, clothing, bedding, household items, and vouchers. We act as a ‘front door’ to other forms of assistance by providing referrals to appropriate services or support agencies. Rosies is non-preaching and non-discriminatory. We aim to maintain people’s dignity while we encourage self reliance.
