Frenchay Church Choir is going on a "Deanery Dash" on Saturday 21st May to sing a hymn in around 30 churches in the area in one day. We are raising money to buy new choir robes for our choir.Thank you so much for your support. We are a local organisation that makes a real difference to the lives of families and adults in the Frenchay community and beyond. Frenchay Parish Church Choir currently has 25 members and close to 20 junior and senior choristers. We have seen the enjoyment of the young people currently involved and have witnessed first hand their confidence grow. The junior choir is supported by a fantastic group of adults who make up the main choir. They come from all walks of life but one thing is for sure…..they all have a passion for singing in church and the local community! They know the joy singing gives to others and how it impacts positively on their own personal wellbeing. However, our adult choir robes are so old and well used that they are falling apart! This fundraiser is to help us replace our old robes with new ones to match our juniors and seniors. Find out more Website http://www.holytrinitystapleton.org.uk/frenchaymusicandchoir.htm

The London Churches Refugee Fund raises money to give small grants to organisations assisting destitute asylum-seekers in the London area. Around 20,000 people claim asylum in the UK each year and over two thirds are initially rejected. "Failed" asylum-seekers may be left totally destitute: not allowed to work and receiving no state benefits, they struggle to stay alive with the help of friends or faith groups. The London Churches Refugee Fund was set up in response to the needs of organisations meeting at the London Churches Refugee Network (LCRN). LCRN members range from individual churches assembling food parcels to large drop-in centres offering a range of services, advice and counselling. Though they achieve miracles with gifts in kind and volunteer help, some essential items need cash. The Fund was set up to help and launched at Westminster Abbey in June 2007. Our funds are restricted to those who are destitute. In 2012 we provided over £15,000 in small grants to more than 20 organisations. Even small sums can literally be life-savers for destitute refugees. Please help by making a donation to this work. Charity No: 1121108 Find out more Website http://www.help4refugees.co.uk
