The Society seeks to achieve high standards of care and equitable access to treatment across the UK and promotes early detection and intervention and, where appropriate, screening and prevention. The Society was established in November of 1985, originally as the British Lymphology Interest Group (BLIG).

The Team is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days of the year, to respond to calls for assistance for those of you who might find yourselves in need on our hills and mountains.The passion for the great outdoors brings many an experienced hillwalker and novice to our mountains, and when things go wrong we are here to help.While our team’s main area of operation is in the Dublin and Wicklow mountains, we also cover as far as the Cooley Mountains in Co. Louth. On top of this, the team will also travel to other parts of the country when requested, to back up other Mountain Rescue Teams and the Gardai. Our purpose is to provide a professional mountain rescue service for those who find themselves in need.
