YTD Raised: £0.00

Funforlife is an educational theatre and arts organisation that empowers young people and their communities, particularly those disadvantaged through sickness, war or poverty, by teaching them vital life skills and inspiring them in a joyful way. Funforlife’s roots go back to the Yugoslavian Civil War, to Croatia, Bosnia and Macedonia. The charity works regularly in the UK, Romania, Sri Lanka and India. Over the years Funforlife has connected with thousands of children. For eight years Funforlife has created a climate within which young people are able to re-connect and discover the true sense of who they are, in all their beauty and strength and give them a window to aspirations otherwise forgotten. Our work in 2010 includes bringing theatre and dance workshops to orphans and refugees in Tamil Nadu (India) & the Northeast of Sri Lanka. We also run regular workshops in the UK and are currently leading a program with the Glasgow based Sri Lankan community.

Head Smart (AU, 67257064863) Browse events

YTD Raised: $0.00

The HeadSmart program is a depression education program specifically designed for young people. Run within the school community, the program aims to: *Increase awareness of mental health and depression among young people . *Educate young people about the risk factors for depression and ways to minimize their impact . *Educate young people about how to provide assistance to other young people showing signs of depression . *Educate young people about appropriate help seeking pathways both within their school and externally. Testimonials Experienced teacher "In all my years teaching I have never had a student come up to me and tell me that they were concerned about the wellbeing of another student. This has just happened, and I put it down to the boys having done the HeadSmart program." Parent I have been trying for years to get my son to meet and talk with someone. He was only willing to do it after he did the HeadSmart program, as he seemed to think that it was okay to talk with someone after he did (the program). He has now begun talking with a psychologist on a regular basis to help him with his issues."   Students "I didn't think that talking with someone would make any difference, but it has. It's nice to know that it's not just all in my head." "I know that you can't do anything to change the situation at home, but it helps to have someone to talk to. It helps me stay sane." Making a Difference HeadSmart is all about early intervention. By screening teens for early signs of possible mental health concerns, and educating them to help themselves and others, HeadSmart is changing the way we approach depression. An investment today in youth mental health will reduce the costs of mental health issues in the future. By educating our youth of today about depression, where and how to seek help, and empowering the change in attitude toward depression and mental health, we are helping combat this all too common community concern.  You have an opportunity to help change the future of mental health in Australia by supporting HeadSmart. Please help this generation of young people reach their full potential. Go to
