Cleveland Alzheimers is a local charity based on the Teesdale site, Stockton-on-Tees since 1989. We provide services and support for individuals suffering from Alzheimers disease and other related dementias and their families in the Tees Valley area. The charity provides high quality specialist dementia care in two 38 bedded nursing homes in Thornaby, and an outreach day centre in the market town of Guisborough which covers the whole of the Redcar & Cleveland locality. In addition we provide free educational and recreational training courses for carers and are the lead agency for the Fusion Cafe, opened in February 2006 as a partnership venture between local agencies involved in dementia care. The cafe provides an accessible social outlet for people with dementia and their carer to attend together. The cafe is open on the last Friday of every month 2pm til 4pm.
