These young people live in adversity and are vulnerable to the challenges of the frantic pace of change in an uncertain world. Dream a Dream India’s programmes and partnerships have helped thousands by developing their life skills. These skills are critical in overcoming adversity, making healthy life-choices and breaking the cycle of poverty. The UN estimates that, unlike declining Europe, India's workforce will increase by 135 million by 2020, to around 600 million. At least half of these will come from vulnerable backgrounds of adversity and disadvantage. Dream A Dream UK was setup by a group of volunteers who were deeply inspired by the vision and programmes of Dream A Dream India, a registered children's charity in India. The primary aim of Dream A Dream UK is to promote and enhance the impact of local charities in India especially Dream A Dream by helping them raise funds from the UK, gain access to volunteers and build awareness about issues of child development, education and youth in India.
