Each year, 500 young people with special needs from 32 counties will spend a week on holiday/Pilgrimage in Lourdes at Easter time. A second smaller pilgrimage travels in June every year to Hosanna House in Bartres, a small village near Lourdes. The Irish Pilgrimage Trust has two holiday homes, which are available to book for groups, organisations and families caring for young people and adults with special needs.Every two years a group of cyclists travel through France to Lourdes - a different kind of pilgrimage to the Grotto. It boasts a supportive community and offering a choice of mainstream and steiner education. Every year the school holds a Community 'Moon Lantern Festival', attracting 400-500 people from our local community. The festival is a celebration of our Asian Studies program and involves the whole community coming together to sample Asian food, watch displays, participate in the Moon Lantern parade and watch and exciting fireworks display. Children from the local kindergaten and playgroup also love to be involved.

WECare Worldwide is an organisation set up by Westway Veterinary Group, the largest veterinary practice in the North of England. Ultimately, WECare Worldwide plan to extend veterinary services around the globe but initially will be concentrating on tacking the issues with the street dog population in Sri Lanka. It is estimated that there are up to 3 million street dogs in Sri Lanka. WECare Worldwide are in the process of carrying out a 5 year plan in which we will look to help eliminate rabies in the country and also reduce the numbers of unwanted street dogs. We will also treat any sick or injured street dogs.
