New Horizon is a day centre based in Kings Cross, supporting homeless and vulnerable young people aged 16 to 21. Founded in 1967, New Horizon has always been motivated by concern for the number of young homeless people coming to the Kings Cross area and getting drawn into a damaging lifestyle. In particular, young people who are involved with the drugs and the sex industry are seen as targets for New Horizon's intervention. Typically they are suffering from emotional and mental and/or physical health problems and are at risk of offending. New Horizon takes a holistic approach in responding to the needs, interests and aspirations of each young person and its main aim is to provide a positive future for this disadvantaged group.

The Karalee State School Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) is run by the volunteer parents and community members of our school. The P&C aim to promote the interests and facilitate the development and further improvement of Karalee State School. Each year the P&C raises funds that are donated directly to the school through fundraising activities as well as grant applications. Funds are used to purchase items from playground equipment and shade structures to fans and air-conditioning. All fundraising activities rely on time that is given freely by parents and community members. All funds raised at the Colour Run and Obstacle Course will be put towards Karalee State School's outdoor spaces. Thank you for your support!
