(UK, 1163116) Green's Windmill Trust promotes the reputation of George Green, the 19th century 'mathematical miller' and the heritage of milling through education, events and operating the working windmill. George Green was a remarkable mathematical physicist in the early 19th century who made many discoveries about such things as light, sound, electricity and magnetism. You can visit his windmill - which has been restored to working order - and the adjacent interactive Science Centre. Following the loss of it's City Council funding, the windmill is now run by the Green's Windmill Trust. Your donation will help keep our sails turning and ensure we remain open for the enjoyment of future generations. (UK, 1099225) The Rumic Foundation Trust was founded in 1993 by June and Roger Chapman.Their aim was to create mobility for young people in Cumbria. Today, we promote financial assistance to disadvantaged, sick or disabled young persons in the Furness and South Lakeland/ Copeland area of Cumbria to improve their health, to provide medical assistance and to further their education and employment training. Therefore, we co-operate with local charities and voluntary bodies in order to recover funds and donations to contribute a benefit to our young community. With our 10th anniversary we not only want to thank the people who supported us immensely throughout the years but we also intend to raise more awareness of our work. We aim to fundraise enough money to buy a new bus for our fleet so that we are able to expand our services and support more young people with their mobility, their school education and they lives. So be part of it!

197th Bristol (1st Stapleton) Scout Group

YTD Raised: £0.00The 197th provides activities for over 70 children in Bristol. Children come from many schools and we meet the needs for a range of physical, social and cultural needs. Through a few volunteers we deliver an exciting programme, tirelessly fundraising to keep this group going. On 17th April 2011 York Gibson will be running the London Marathon in aid of the 197th. Amongst other things it is hoped that sufficient funds can be raised to help install proper heating in the Scout hut so the children don't keep getting frostbite in the winter months. Come on, ask your family and friends to donate and help us reach our £1000 target!
