Sands provides bereavement support services for parents and their families who experience the death of their baby. Each year in Queensland approximately 600 babies die from causes relating to stillbirth and newborn death and a further 20,000 from causes relating to early pregnancy loss. Services provided by Sands to bereaved parents include 24 hour telephone and email support, web site, extensive resource material, regular support meetings, library service and monthly newsletter.
