Straddling the arts, education, health and social care sectors, and using visual, media and performing arts, we provide a wide range of opportunities for disabled people and other socially-excluded groups. Our work allows participants to become involved in creativity, acquire new skills, gain qualifications and secure employment and supported employment within the arts and creative industries. Employing 46 people, Zinc is one of the larger disabled-led arts organisations in the UK and the only one to own and operate its own arts education centre. As we approach our 21st birthday, we have embarked on a major capital development which will see our centre in Essex expand to become a fully accessible residential education facility. This development will allow the organisation to expand the scope and range of its services and establish a world class centre of excellence for the development of arts education activities with and for disabled people, socially-excluded groups and the local community. 95% of the money required for this development has already been raised but there is still a little way to go to reach the £6.2million fundraising target for this project. Thank you for your support.

Every year, a newly-elected committee selects two charities to be the beneficiaries for that year's fundraising. Our 2018 charities are Médecins Sans Frontieres and SOFEA, two fantastic charities providing much needed work internationally and locally, respectively. We are raising money for MSF in loving memory of Lottie Fullerton, a much-loved member of our year who tragically passed away last year.To raise money for these charities, we hold a number of events throughout the year. These include a student pantomime in November, as well as various challenges such as a Cycle to Paris trip. The 2016 team raised over £30,000 for their chosen charities, which was an incredible achievement! Please donate generously to help us raise even more!
