Facebook post 11 December 2015It was just over six weeks ago when the nurse kindly asked my visitors to step aside.She knew what was coming.She drew the curtain. We were alone. She was sensitive to the situation, as she knew this was a poignant moment. She was cool peeps too, I liked the way she let her natural hair crown her being. Plus, she never minced her words and always laughed at my foolishness. Deftly she presented this cup of tablets, the shock on my face could not be masked. I mustered a 'WTF!' She looked at me and then I understood why this moment had to be private. This was my 'welcome to chemo moment'. My biggest race had began! Like the school's Parents and Friends Association (PFA), the Foundation has provided money for a significant amount of the school equipment your children use every day. Given the public spending cuts, the value of these donations can only become more important to the school in the coming years.

(UK, 1131595) St Mary-at-Finchley is a welcoming and inclusive parish church in north London, confident in spreading the Gospel of Christ and compassionate in serving communities, both Christian and non-Christian. About usWe are a caring and vibrant Church of England community, with a lively Junior Church. We welcome Christians of other denominations to worship in our buildings if they have nowhere else to meet, and we support churches in Kenya and Russia. We have strong links with local schools and charities, and provide overnight shelter for homeless people during the winter. Our church is open throughout day for people of any faith to enter and spend time in prayer or quiet contemplation.Raise the Roof!Our church is very beautiful, but also very old. Both the main roof and the roof over the ancient tower are in urgent need of repair. The work will cost over £65,000 and we need to raise a further £44,800 as soon as possible.
