We are a charity with a focus on children, and we provide healthy recreational activity for the community and help our 6-18 year olds through their growing years with life skills and experiences which will prepare them better for adulthood. We have even changed our charitable constitution to allow us to have 16 year olds as trustees to give them experience. And we operate a Youth Council of 11 - 18 year olds who act as a young players union as well as producing the clubs newsletter. Yes our activities are based around football, but what better vehicle to get them involved?
Paul Simpson joined the teaching staff at Shelford Girls' Grammar in 2008. He was a much respected teacher of Science and his particular passion was Biology. Paul was also actively involved in the coaching of girls' basketball teams. To be in his company was to be in the company of a passionate and knowledgeable man. He had an extraordinary knowledge of plants and the natural world and his students knew this. He encouraged them to connect deeply with the environment. The world was Paul's classroom and he never missed an opportunity to share his knowledge and passion for life. Paul believed that it was possible through education to make the world a better place, by inspiring our young people to be the best they can be. He was a great mentor to not only our students but staff members too. Paul brought every shred of his being to his role as a teacher and a coach. Paul lifted his students' vision of what was attainable, and he made our girls believe in themselves. On March 3, 2011 Paul died tragically whilst on a snorkelling activity with Year 10 students from Shelford Girls' Grammar. The Shelford community wishes to perpetuate the memory of Paul Simpson with the establishment of a memorial scholarship. The Principal of Shelford Girls' Grammar Ms Polly Flanagan and the Patrons of the Simpson Memorial Scholarship Mr Lindsay Gaze and Mr Andrew Gaze, encourage you to donate to this very worthy cause. The Scholarship will be an ongoing reminder to the wider community of the wonderful legacy of Paul Simpson.

Making a difference in vulnerable women's livesJericho Road Project works with women affected by the sex industry in Nottingham. There are estimated to be around 80 women involved in street prostitution in Nottingham and over 250 women working off street. Many of them live in desperate situations struggling with issues such as drug addiction, homelessness and abuse. We make a difference by empowering clients to make life changing, informed choices. We also assist and support those who wish to exit prostitution, enabling them to live a life away from the sex industry. We are also a voice for those marginalised by the sex industry. We run an outreach service, drop in, do prison visiting and resettlement work, as well as more recently having opened a supported house and offering befriending to the women.
