The Diane Modahl Sports Foundation (DMSF) is a registered charity which works with young people from disadvantaged areas across the North West, enabling them to make the most of themselves in sport, school and life. Set up in 2010 by the former international athlete Diane Modahl, the charity is changing lives. Working with some of the North West’s most disadvantaged young people, the organisation has provided opportunity; the opportunity to aspire to and achieve potential. Potential can be about making friends, joining in, learning respect; potential can be about competing and winning, excelling (for a few) or achieving (for all) in sport school and life.

AHAG is a registered charity, governed by a board of trustees, who recognised the need for housing support and advice within the Aylesbury Vale. The ‘Hub’ drop in centre was initiated in 2009 as a pilot scheme to identify the need within Aylesbury. This was open for 3 hours per day for three days a week. Once the need had been clearly proven we have included the Hub as a key part of our strategy for engaging those people who are homeless or facing homelessness. Since 2012, the charity was fortunate to be able to secure its own premises on Rickfords Hill. This has enabled us to offer one to one support by appointment. We also have a training room giving people access to computers and phones to assist those looking for housing, employment and education. We have also offered emergency accommodation for the past six years during the winter period. This was started initially in partnership with local churches. Since 2014 we had access to a single venue which was generously provided by Aylesbury Vale District Council. The charity has grown in size since 2009 and we currently employ six members of staff. We also are reliant on our volunteers who underpin the work that we do. Many of those have remained with the charity since 2009. Your donations help us to support some of the most vulnerable within our community. £3 buys a hot meal for someone on the streets £10 pays for basic ID (this is essential for accessing support and accommodation) £50 pays for a night’s emergency B&B to ensure a vulnerable person doesn’t have to sleep on the streets £100 covers the cost of three open-access drop-in sessions for one week £250 helps towards securing a deposit for stable, long-term accommodation
