(IE, CHY00817) Browse eventsChildVision is the ONLY school in Ireland for the education and training of blind and vision impaired children. We have been providing education and training at our campus in Drumcondra, Dublin since 1859 and in 2009 we celebrated our 150th Anniversary. Our students range in age from birth through to young adulthood. Some have additional learning and/or physical disabilities. Students attending the school come from all parts of Ireland and for those who due to geographical location cannot attend each week we offer an outreach service via our Family Resource Centre. Through an annual Calendar of events it offers training, social activities and Summer Camps at weekends and during school holidays for children, families and professionals in the field of vision impairment. Our Mobile Resource Unit, equipped with the latest in technology and aids for the visually impaired plus information leaflets etc. travels the country bringing our service to schools, hospitals and health centres. ChildVision acts as a national resource on the education and training of the blind or vision impaired child for parents, educators and healthcare professionals alike.
