(UK, 1177914) Browse eventsWe provide support to the children of families dealing with cancer and other life affecting illnesses, offering help through physical and sporting activities, counselling and memory-making days. The Chris Aked Foundation was the idea of our dear friend, loving husband and father, Chris Aked. Chris was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer in April 2017, when his baby daughter was only 11 weeks old. He fought hard, and we were hopeful he would recover, but unfortunately the cancer was diagnosed too late and he died just five months later on 7th September 2017, aged only 33.He was the most determined person through his illness and wanted to support others facing adversity. Children are often sidelined during the traumatic period while a parent or sibling is fighting cancer and we want to give them the focus, support and care they require, at a time when they need it most. Please help us make a difference. Little Company of Mary Health Care, a national Catholic health care organisation, are stewards of the heritage of compassion begun by the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary, who came to Australia in 1885. We serve communities and individuals through more than 20 health, aged and community care services throughout New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and the Northern Territory by providing: Public and private hospitals Retirement living and residential aged care Community care and Comprehensive palliative care Foundational to the spirituality of Mary Potter was the recognition of, and deep respect for, the unique dignity and beauty of the human person and a desire that all persons experience the care and concern of others. Through interaction with our Calvary services, people will have a greater sense of their own worth and dignity. Their experience will be that someone cares about whom they are, what they are experiencing and what they need. Their needs will be met with a commitment to excellence in service and care. This is the heart of “being for others”.

(UK, 1160929) Browse eventsGiving children in Nepal greater choices in life through access to quality education At Supporting Nepal's Children we are dedicated to improving the life and choices of children in remote Nepal villages through the ongoing development of local, quality education. This is an entirely voluntary organisation and every penny donated will help to build and equip schools so that these children have the opportunity to fulfil their dreams. We were formed in May 2013 and are extremely active in the Solukhumbu. Following the devastating earthquake in April 2015, we are now also helping communities in Gorkha, close to the epicentre. If you would like to help us continue this work, please set up a fundraising page, or make a donation direct via this page. We visit Nepal twice a year to visit our projects and provide regular updates to our generous donors. All trips to Nepal are self funded and NONE of your donations will go towards these trips, 100% of your donations makes it straight to the people who need it most. Thank you so much for your help.
