In April 2020 with the support of teachers in 55 primary schools, we're gifting 30,000 books to children with few books of their own. We're partnering with a mental health arts charity so that 10k children & young people will each receive a bundle of three beautiful books plus art materials.
Road to Freedom is a non-profit charity that aims to provide refugees fleeing war-torn countries with immediate aid, which includes food, clothing and hygiene kits. Working with official NGO’s and charities on the ground at borders and refugee camps, we personally hand aid to those men, women and children in desperate need. Road to Freedom have developed a professional team of volunteers who extensively fund raise each month ahead of their journey to a different location in crisis. Each volunteer effectively distributes aid in a professional and humane manner alongside NGO’s and other on-site charities. Alongside our valuable work on the ground, we consistently strive to raise awareness in the international worlds about the tragic effects of the continuing vulnerability of the refugees affected by war.
NOLA to Angola is an annual 170-mile bicycle ride fundraiser. Funds raised support the Cornerstone Builders Bus Project, which provides free transportation for people to visit their incarcerated loved ones.
We understand that abstaining from drugs and alcohol is just the beginning of building a new life free from addiction; therefore Changes provides services that support the whole recovery journey - from dependence to independence. We provide a detox service, community based rehabilitation, supported and move on housing and opportunities to gain accredited qualifications, volunteering and work experience. Service users at the beginning of their recovery journey are supported 24 hours a day by qualified staff and our specially trained volunteer peer mentors. They also have access to our Recovery Academy which, over an eight week full time course, begins to build the knowledge and skills that service users need in order to maintain their recovery, build a personal recovery support network (including mutual aid groups) and learn to live life to the full. Changes staff and volunteers are passionate people - we all consider it a privilege to work with people in recovery - and we know that we can help those looking for a new life beyond drugs and alcohol.
