Sri Lanka's first medical school was run Dr Samuel Green at Manipay Hospital from 1847 to 1875. We have also trained orphan girls as Healthcare Assistants. WE have trained over 50 such students in last 2 years and therea re currently another 25 students training currently. Institute of Medical Sciences is a charity formed to provide this training at Green Hospital Manipay.
