Maggie's Rescue (AU, 81412716367) Browse events

YTD Raised: $7,467.00

We are a registered animal welfare charity, a co-operative of carers that support animals in need of homes. Our goal is to find these animals their permanent homes in families who will commit to loving them for life. When you talk to the carer for a particular animal, that person is usually looking after the care of that animal and knows the dog or cat well. Any animal we rehome has been desexed, vaccinated and microchipped and we worm all animals on arrival in our care. We are committed to No Kill philosophy and believe that public education and desexing is the cornerstone of this. We aim to have basic obedience for each dog by the time of rehome in place and offer ongoing telephone assistance for new owners if needed. www.maggiesrescue.org

Everythings 13 (UK, 1143262) Browse events

YTD Raised: £7,454.13

We're an educational charity aiming to demystify the wisdom of the Sikh Gurus and inspire and uplift society. We run a youtube channel called “Basics of Sikhi” (www.youtube.com/basicsofsikhi), a weekly katha and kirtan programme at Park Avenue Gurdwara in Southall, a touring lecture series at Gurdwaras and Universities called “Sikhi in English” and a 12-week introductory course to Sikhi called the "Why Guru Course"(www.everythings13.org/Everythings_13/Why_Guru_Course) Our latest initiative is "PLAN BE13" Plan B by Everythings 13 This is Plan B - Everyone has a plan A.  Someone’s waiting for Guru Gobind Singh ji, someone’s waiting for Santji, someone’s waiting for mahaan Gurmukhs to come and sort out our problems. Fair enough, we know we are none of those, we’re just plan B, the stand in guys, average Sikhs, trying to make a difference. We’ll do our best, let Maharaaj do the rest. E 13 like Everythings 13, a properly registered charity and eligible for gift aid from HMRC. We have already built a track record of physical and online parchaar and on the humanitarian front, have given sizeable amounts to notable causes to help others in the Panth and outside. Be = Sounds like 20 in Punjabi and along with 13 makes 2013 **This is a trial project of one year** After confirmation from Hukamnama of Sri Guru Granth sahib, we’re stepping out of our comfort zone to see if full time parchaar can make a big impact. We're going to start employing people to spread Guru's message globally, though talks, videos and the WhyGuru Course. Everything will be documented in a blog and posted online to see how much was done with the support of the Sangat. 13 = In Punjabi sounds like Tera, ie "Vaheguru, this is yours". So BE13 means lets be the servants of Vaheguru, lets give with open hearts, saying to vaheguru that  everything we have is a gift. Be = Be part of this one year trial project, be the Guru’s sikh, the supporter of the Panth as we look to hire 5 full time parchariks across the UK and globally! Why hire people full time? There is so much work to be done and giving up (because of the enormity of the task) is not an option. If we look at any organisation that is sustainable and has succeeded, it’s because they have full time staff. We’re not looking to kill people, nor pay them a killing, simply to pay them a living. To put this in context, the British Territorial Army match a soldiers civilian pay if they are to be deployed on operations. We’re not doing that. Its likely that the people we want will have to take a signifant pay drop as our target is to pay a maximum of 2000x13 = £26k. What's the maths of this? If you pledge £1300 per year, we only need 20 people like you to hire a full time parchaarik! (£108 per month) If you pledge £13 a week, we can hire a parchaarik with just 40 people like you! (£57 a month) If you pledge £13 a month, we just need 166 people like you! If you pledge £130 per year, we only need 200 people like you. (£11 per month) If you pledge just £13, we only need 2000 such donations! If you’re thinking, I can give a lot more than that. If 13 people give £2000 for one year or 2 people give £13000 for one year we could do the same. Why not do this as a family or business. Can you just imagine it? 5 full time parchariks, spreading the Basics of Sikhi, teachings courses, doing talks, touring globally, engaging at universities, with the public, online, Gurdwaras, at City Centre… Just imagine the change...and it only requires the support of the sangat.. So BE part of this, BE one of those people. Say that iPower Plan BE13. Join us by clicking the “Make a monthly donation” button on the right. Vaheguru ji ka Khalsa, Vaheguru ji ki Fateh
