We work with researchers throughout Australia and globally. This ensures that resources are pooled, duplication is avoided, knowledge is shared and progress is faster for the ultimate benefit of women with or at risk of breast cancer. WHY IS CLINICAL TRIALS RESEARCH IMPORTANT? Every woman diagnosed with breast cancer has a disease which is unique to her. We know that clinical trials research has identified safe and more effective treatments resulting in a marked decrease in the number of deaths from breast cancer – we are saving more lives today than ever before. But we want to cure every person. And all women are at risk of breast cancer. This risk increases with age and can increase further if you have a strong family history of the disease. WHAT WE DO. Our national clinical trials research program is committed to establishing more effective and well tolerated treatments which save lives and protect quality of life, which prevent breast cancer and which lower the long term risk of breast cancer returning. Your support for our research can help women everywhere, every day, to overcome this disease. It will also help us work towards a future free of breast cancer for generations to come. The Breast Cancer Institute of Australia is the fundraising division of the Australian New Zealand Breast Cancer Trials Group.
