Home-start East Surrey (UK, 1164164) Browse events

YTD Raised: £6,566.48

Home-Start East Surrey (HSES) are a local Early Help support charity, working with families where there are children under 5 as well as older siblings, which provides regular emotional and practical support to families who are struggling to cope with difficulties such as disability, mental health, multiple births, isolation and bereavement. The coordinators assess each family’s needs and goals and then carefully match that family with one of our volunteers. Regular review visits ensure that a family’s goals are being met using a positive outcomes-based approach. Our carefully vetted and trained volunteers visit families weekly and work alongside parents, in their own homes, to help them cope with the difficulties they face. Our volunteers are parents who understand how hard it can be to raise young children. We are the only voluntary organisation that provides home visiting support to struggling families with young children in Redhill, Reigate, Horley, Tandridge, Dorking and other parts of East Surrey. Our team of 50 volunteers is supported by a manager, two coordinators and administrator. We operate in accordance with approved policies for safeguarding, referral procedures, confidentiality, data protection and financial management etc. The Charity is supervised by a board of volunteer trustees. Trustees have a range of skills in the health, social care, charitable sector, IT and finance arenas. HSES is a stand-alone charity, affiliated to the national organisation, Home-Start UK. HSES follows the policies and procedures developed by HSUK and is part of the Quality Assurance process that oversees the charity. We receive referrals from health visitors, social workers, children’s centres and other agencies, as well as self-referrals. Our experienced staff work in partnership with other agencies in order to best serve the interests of each family.

YTD Raised: £6,565.00

The Wynn Trust, a charitable organisation established to provide assistance and support to boxers who have suffered from brain injuries. Our mission is to raise funds and awareness to help these individuals reclaim their quality of life and receive the necessary support and resources for rehabilitation and recovery. The Wynn Trust is named after our friend Charlie Wynn, a former boxer who tragically suffered a severe brain injury while sparring in preparation for a fight. Despite enduring numerous medical treatments and therapies over the past six years, Charlie is still unable to walk and requires extensive support for daily living activities. It is our goal to not only aid Charlie on his journey to recovery but to also extend our assistance to numerous others who are in similar situations. The funding available from the government for individuals with brain injuries is limited, and as a result, many are not receiving the comprehensive support needed to improve their quality of life. The Wynn Trust is dedicated to filling this critical gap by providing financial aid, rehabilitation services, and support programs that can significantly enhance the well-being of those affected.
