As parents of a young adult with Cerebral Palsy we’ve unfortunately learnt the hard way that most things in life don’t come easy to our son James, whether it be physically, mentally or in the form of support. The one question we kept asking ourselves was ‘Who’s going to care for him when we no longer can?’ We knew we weren’t alone when it came to this question. So as passionate parents, we only have the best intentions (Like most parents) to want the very best for our special children. Finding the right place for any child to live independently who has special and complex needs is a stressful and difficult, with little or no choice available. We wanted to ‘make a difference’ not only for James life, but for the lives of others. We’ve decided to spend the next 30 years of our lives creating JPC Community Farm so it can provide Independent Supported Living, Respite/Short Breaks, Leisure and Educational facilities, all focused around our special clients and just as importantly their families. It was created to help those who’ve struggled like us and are struggling now. So building the facility gives the independence our children need, whilst giving parents and siblings the relief of knowing their loved one is safe and cared for.

The Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust aims to help people living with Pulmonary Fibrosis and to raise awareness of this illness in all groups of society. Pulmonary Fibrosis is responsible for 5,000 early deaths every year. Sufferers are often diagnosed very late in the illness and consequently many of them have to come to terms with it very quickly. Others have to give up work before retirement, move house because they can no longer cope with stairs, and need financial help to cope with special equipment purchase or rental.
