You may have a child in your family with an upper limb deficiency or you know someone who has? Reach is a support group run by families to give them the opportunity to meet others, offer advice and support. Each year, babies are born in the UK missing part of one or both arms and hands. Added to these are a small number of children who lose limbs or parts of limbs due to traumatic incidents or necessary surgery. For many of the families of these children it is the first time that they will have come across such a disability. Reach aims to provide the affected families with the opportunity to get together, share experiences and information about what to do (or not to do) and where to go for advice regarding treatment and to help them realise that they are not alone. About Us We are a Norfolk charity helping children, young people and families right across the county. Each year we help around 2,000 people by providing hope, opportunity, stability and independence with our work which covers the following main areas. Your support will help us continue this vital work. Homelessness We provide a home for over 100 young adults and support them with their education, employment and life skills so they can move on to an independent life. Families We are a partner to nearly 100 schools in Norfolk and in each we support some of the pupils and parents who need extra help. Children We provide childcare in pre and after school clubs and at a day nursery. We have our own school in Great Yarmouth for pupils with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties. Furniture Stores Our stores in Norwich, Dereham and Holt sell donated furniture and white goods and this raises money to help fund our other work.
FitzRoy transforms the lives of people with learning disabilities, helping them live more independently at home and in the community. We are a national charity, supporting over 500 people in over 50 locations, and in 2012 we celebrate our 50th anniversary. www.fitzroy.org
