We provide access for young people who would otherwise grow up having had no or very limited opportunity to engage with the arts. Children who take part are drawn from both urban and rural areas of deprivation and come from a variety of backgrounds. Many have behavioural and learning difficulties. Thousands of children leave school having never set foot in an art gallery, watched a performance in a theatre or listened to an orchestra play live. Children & the Arts works to redress this balance and encourage in children a long term engagement with the arts. The arts have the power to transform children’s lives and have a proven positive impact on their development resulting in: Through our work children learn that cultural venues are welcoming, accessible and exciting places to visit

(UK, 1094788) Pregnancy Sickness Support is a registered UK charity working to improve care, treatment and support for women suffering from Nausea and Vomiting in Pregnancy (NVP) and the severe form of the condition; Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG). We are currently a small charity and we rely heavily on donations and fund-raising from sufferers and the work of volunteers. We are setting up a national support network for sufferers and raising awareness about the Nausea and Vomiting in pregnancy and Hyperemesis Gravidarum with the public, the media and Health Care Professionals (HCP's). We are also involved in ongoing research into the cause and treatment of NVP and HG and the psychological impact for sufferers and their families. We host an annual conference for Pregnancy Sickness and we are developing online training course for both volunteers and HCP's. Long term we would like to see the charity grow to reflect the national need for support for these conditions and to improve awareness and eductation regarding the conditions.

In providing bespoke tailor-made shirts, ties and walking sticks they restore an element of pride in the soldier’s appearance and help to give them confidence to appear in public despite their obvious disfigurement. Style for Soldiers also facilitates work placements for the patients which has provided them with a new focus, a new career and hope for the future, and organises networking events. Their support for patients continues long after their discharge from Headley Court and the Services.
