AWF was set up 30 years ago by vets with a passion to alleviate unnecessary pain and suffering in all animals and to improve their welfare through science, education and debate. Farm animals, working animals, wild animals and pets – all need our expert help and with your help we can provide it.
Our current mosque consists of a flat above a restaurant. It does not have the capacity to cater for our women, children and community related activities. As our numbers are growing, we need larger premises that can meet the needs of our members and serve as a hub for the whole community.
Aid for Himalayan Education is currently supporting the provision of educational opportunities for people from the Himalayan regions, particularly the young people of Spiti, Himachal Pradesh through regular funding for Munsel-ling School
We give grants to effective projects that care for the wildlife, landscapes and cultural heritage of the Lake District and Cumbria.
Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team comprises c40 members, all volunteers, who are available at all times of the day and night in any weather, 365 days per year, to assist those in distress or lost in the remote areas of Swaledale & Wensleydale, North Yorkshire. We are funded entirely from donations.
